This Saturday I leave for my week long vacation to Punta Cana in the Domincan Republic. I am so excited to leave all this snow and slush behind and trade in my parka for a bikini (and a pina colada). I’m a firm believer in planning, especially when it comes to vacations. That’s why I have carefully chosen all of my beach and warm weather essentials below.
My skin essentials from left to right:
– Aloe Vera gel
– Coppertone Sport Sunscreen (SPF 60)
– Avène Thermal Spring Water Mist
– Neutrogena All-In-One Makeup Removing Cleansing Lotion
– Neutrogena Healthy Skin CC Cream in Light
– MAC Bronzer in Golden
– Revlon liquid Eyeliner in Black
– Petal Tops (always good to keep at least one pair in your travel or makeup bag)
You can never bring too many shorts with you!
I love the smell of this conditioner! It’s perfect to keep your hair soft after a day of salt, sun, and chlorine.
I bought this trio from Bath & Body Works. It smells amazing and keeps my skin soft. Plus, it’s the pefect scent to wear on a tropical vacation.
I bought this top a while ago from Nasty Gal and I have been dying for an occasion to wear it! Shown here with black denim shorts, but it would look good with a black skirt, or white cutoffs too.
No trip is complete without a few bright coloured bikinis to show off your tan! I bought these from Ardene while they were having a BOGO sale on all tops and bottoms. I’ve been seeing a lot of ruffled bikini bottoms lately and so I decided to try out the trend. You can wear them under a crochet beach cover-up (like my white one from Target) or a maxi dress (Also shown here).
I have never visited the Dominican before so if you have any tips for me let me know! Also feel free to share any of your best beauty and fashion ideas.
And stay tuned for pictures from my vacation! You can also follow me on Instagram for some more personal photos while I’m away.
Nordstrom has finally arrived in Ottawa! On Friday, March 6th at 9:30 am, hundreds or people were lined up for the first glimpse of the luxury department store at Rideau Centre. From Burberry to Chanel; Jimmy Choo to Valentino; a store of this size is unlike anything Ottawa has ever seen. We decided to take some photos of some of the favourite things we saw during our visit.
I was super impressed with their accessory selection. From high-end watches and purses to gorgeous jewelry, they had everything a girl could need!
There is a great mens section too. Perfect place to pick up a gift for your boyfriend.
I love this outfit! So bohemian and perfect for a day out or even for a summer music festival.
Kate Spade in Tiffany’s blue. Need I say more?
These flats are gorgeous! I love the snakeskin version.
These Jimmy Choo purses caught my eye. I love the simplicity of an all black/white bag, and the detailing on each bag added an edge to the look.
I think my met my true love when I set eyes on this display of Valentino studded and bowed shoes.
The makeup displays were quite elaborate, taking up the interior entrance of the store. But Chanel had its own dedicated area along with a display that ran parallel to the other makeup counters. Talk about glam!
Lastly is a display of high end bath and beauty products by Jo Malone. I love the chic and simple packaging of each product.
There was so much more the store had to offer, and this is only a small look at the Ottawa store. We’ll for sure be back soon.

I was browsing through the NastyGal website and thought I would share with you some great looks for spring! I love the bright colours and feminine details of these looks. In spring, I always like to add a pop of colour to my wardrobe to brighten up my almost all black winter uniform. If your looking to add a statement piece to your spring wardrobe, go for a bold skirt or dress like the Pippa Lynn shift dress pictured above. Of course, spring isn’t always the warmest weather, so it’s good to have some sweaters on standby. I fell in love with the BARBER “Fun Size” sweater as soon as I saw it. And it’s perfect to wear with high waisted jeans or shorts.
What are your go-to looks for spring?
Spring is coming, and I can feel it. And no, it’s not because of the weather (it was -30 in Ottawa this past weekend) – it’s because most stores have started to receive new collections and I no longer have the urge to buy huge fluffy sweaters.
I’ve been seeing bucket bags everywhere lately. This past Friday I went to Rideau Centre and saw them in both Forever 21 and American Apparel. However, it wasn’t until I was sitting at home yesterday fighting what seems to be another cold, that I found this bucket bag from Dynamite. At only $30 (with 15% off online and free shipping), I made this baby mine.
What trends are you following this upcoming season? Let us know in the comments!
First off, sorry for such a long hiatus but me and Liz have been taking a bit of a break from blogging. Winter weather has just made it really hard for us to create quality content for you all.
But our break has been long enough so I decided to share my new fashion purchases. As you know, me and Liz live in Canada, and wherever you’re from, I’m sure you have heard about Target. Target opened in Canada not even a year ago and has already closed. Sad face. That does mean there are some sales going on though! I got both of these shoes for less than 20 dollars since they were 20 per cent off. Target shoes are actually really comfy and these heels don’t hurt my feet at all, even after wearing them for 8 hours. Lucky for me there were still some size 7’s left. And of course, at Bonne Vivante, we love a good deal. I hope everyone is braving the weather out there! Check back for a new post soon.
